Another visit from me and the kids this morning. Latte in hand. Although by the sound of it the food is fantastic coffee leaves a little bit to be desired.
When we arrived the oncologist was there (not Monday then). They had already covered most of the ground so I got a summary.
Chemo will start in 2 weeks, probably week of 17th most likely on the Tuesday. She will then have a session every 2 weeks for a total of 8 times. By my calculation this would mean the last session would be 24th January which doesn't seem too far away. Sarah will definitely lose her hair but she's already found a place to get a wig made and will be going this week (or as soon as possible) to chose when while she has something to compare with. Jenna asked if Sarah's hair could be made into a wig but apparently it needs to be longer. We're still hoping that she'll go with a red clown one. She will start to lose the hair within two weeks of the first session and once chemo stops the hair grows back at about a rate of an inch a month (I think that's what she said) starting with a fuzz. Strangely It might grow back differently. Fingers crossed it's frizzy and ginger....ho ho.
Sarah's Mum and Dad are up this afternoon.
I persuaded her to let me take a photo because I think she looks amazingly well.
Feel free to text, call or email (07736 450 729 / sarah@chapman.eu.com ). If she's sleeping the phone will be silent.
Rob.
