Surgery confirmed for this Friday. She will be at the Princess Grace in central London. Operation in the morning should be awake and vistable (is that a word?) in the afternoon. Depending on how well she recovers could be home on Monday or Tuesday.
He confirmed the CT results that there was no identifiable presence anywhere else. Only abnormality was in a lymph node but scored a 2 or something which means it shouldn't be cancer and is probably where they did the biopsy.
Regardless during the surgery she will have the sentinel lymph node removed and it will be fully biopsied.
There's one more test called something like the HER2 which if positive would mean it's not triple negative but equally means she could be treated with herceptin. About 20% of cancers are treatable this way. It's "and" though not instead of chemo.
God - this is such a high tech way of communicating but it seems efficient. Sarah, I'm so sorry you have to go through this hot on the heels of the back op earlier in the year - truly your annus horribilis. I'll be thinking of you so much tomorrow and look forward very much to seeing you back at home whenever you're up to visitors.
