Sarah's care nurse just called me to share the bad news that the first lymph node in the ladder is positive for cancer. This means she will have a block of tissue removed around this node which will capture more "steps" down the lymph node ladder. They will then biopsy all of these to see how far the cancer has spread. Ideally the fewer steps the better.
She reassured me that because the Pet-CT scan is clear it's "highly unlikely" to have gone far down them otherwise the cancer would have shown up elsewhere.
We won't get these results until Wednesday or Thursday next week so another stressful wait.
I'm going to go and see her at 3pm as clearly this is going to upset her even more as we were led to believe that the 2 scored was a false positive.
This now means she will have chemo - where before there was a chance she wouldn't.
Rob.
Arse....am sure they will take all they need to and a few more for safety...that you can be assured of....am not sure you need all those bobbly things under your armpits anyway so the worst case scenario is slightly swollen fingers resulting in the need for beautiful new diamond rings.......
