Like the fool I am I've signed up to do the RideLondonSurrey100 "race" on the 4th of August. It essentially follows the route of the Olympic Road Race...thankfully with only one lap of Box Hill. Which I am sure is plenty enough. To date the longest ride I've completed is about 50 miles - the London/Brighton a few years back. This ride/race will require me to get fit and become a MAMIL. My current build I hope will fade so I don't look like the Michelin Man for too long.
I've decided to ride in aid of Breast Cancer Care who offer support to people not as fortunate as Sarah and I were during our ordeal. We were lucky enough to both escape the worst side of breast cancer and also to be surrounded by loving caring family and friends who helped enormously. Not everyone has this experience. The work BCC perform makes a huge difference to many suffers. They're not one of the big charities and resources are scarce for them because they don't get the same media attention.
I promise I'll only ever do one sponsored event per year. I promise it will be a challenge that means I suffer to dislodge cash from your wallet/purse.

I'm going to log my training when ever possible with Strava - if you want to check up on me then have a look here...http://www.strava.com/athletes/robcha
While I have your attention the latest with Sarah is that she's fit and well, normal (for her anyway), back down the gym, etc. She will have check-up's every 6 months. I'll post news when we get it. So don't forget to subscribe....
